While we continue to develop and carry out new studies, we would also like to share some of our recent results with you – our panel. As always, be on the lookout for survey invitations in the weeks ahead. Your valuable input is necessary and deeply appreciated.
As you may know, municipal elections in Ontario are scheduled for Oct. 22, 2018. When asked, “Which mayoral candidate do you plan on voting for in the upcoming Ottawa municipal election?”, the majority of Ottawans favour Jim Watson at 37 per cent, followed by Clive Doucet at 13 per cent, and Bruce McConville at only one per cent. Likewise, the majority of Torontonians favour John Tory at 43 per cent, followed by Jennifer Keesmaat at 21 per cent, and Faith Goldy at two per cent.
When asked, “Which mayoral candidate do you plan on voting for in the upcoming Mississauga municipal election?”, the majority of Missisaugans favour Bonnie Crombie at 43 per cent, followed by Kevin Johnston at two per cent, and Scott Chapman at one per cent. Likewise, the majority of Hamiltonians favour Fred Eisenberger at 24 per cent, followed by Vito Sgro at five per cent, and as much as 71 per cent are undecided.
Lastly, when asked, “Which mayoral candidate do you plan on voting for in the upcoming Brampton municipal election?”, the majority of Bramptonians favour Linda Jeffrey at 31 per cent, followed by Patrick Brown at 16 per cent, John Sprovieri at nine per cent, Bal Gosal at two per cent, and as much as 40 per cent are undecided.
Turning west, municipal elections in Manitoba are scheduled for Oct. 24, 2018. When asked, “Which mayoral candidate do you plan on voting for in the upcoming Winnipeg municipal election?”, the majority of Winnipeggers favour Brian Bowman at 23 per cent, followed by Jenny Motkaluk at 10 per cent, and Don Woodstock at one per cent. As much as 63 per cent are undecided.
Turning further west, municipal elections in British Columbia are scheduled for Oct. 20, 2018. When asked, “Which mayoral candidate do you plan on voting for in the upcoming Vancouver municipal election?”, the majority Vancouverites favour Kennedy Stewart at 22 per cent, followed by Ken Sim at five per cent, Wai Young at four per cent, Shauna Sylvester at three per cent, Hector Bremner and David Chen at two per cent, consecutively. As much as 61 per cent are undecided.

Q: How do I Sign-in to access the Member Panel?
A: Please visit www.probit.ca and under “Panel Member Sign In” click First time user? Click here. Following, please create a new password and re-enter the new password.
Q: I am unable to connect to a survey?
A: We suggest that you enter the URL (survey link) into the address bar of your browser, rather than into a search engine; given security requirements for the protection of survey data, our surveys will never appear in the search results produced.
Q: What are the incentives for completing surveys?
A: Incentives are regularly offered for the surveys we conduct, via lottery, or direct remuneration, in the form of cash or gift cards. Applicable incentives will be explicitly stated in our survey invitations.
Q: How can I update my personal information (i.e. mailing address, email address)
A:We have recently improved the Probit portal website, so that panel members can have more direct access to their accounts. This includes a feature to update your personal information including your mailing address and your email address. Please follow the steps below to update your personal information:
- Visit www.probit.ca and click on “Panel Member Sign In”
- Enter your login credentials (if it’s your first time, click on “First time user? Click here” and fill out the necessary field. Use the same email address that is used when you receive survey invitations).
- From there, you can update your personal information.
